Butter|ljóð (2018)

Butter|ljóð explores language and materiality; either through words or through the poetics inherent to the materials. This project reflect a more personal relationship with food and the Icelandic landscape; missing abundance, craving dairy and playing with the sensory aspects of butter. I beaded words that can apply to describe butter as well as the softer and slower rhythm of life in Blönduós. Again, I work with contradicting relationships between two materials: soft butter and dry fish; and around a tradition to eat the dried fish smeared with butter to soften it up. Butter|ljóð is composed of two separate projects: Craving and Soft Melt.
